Hipskind’s Cloud DNS service utilizes a highly scalable multi-datacenter, multi-country cloud platform and provides web-based self-service access to highly-available cloud DNS features and functionality. The DNS cloud infrastructure is built using Anycast architecture and high end infrastructure, which provides security and scalability.

The Cloud DNS portal provides the ability to use the following features and functionalities:

• 60 second global propagation SLA
• 24 record types: The portal uses 24 record types
• Role based access: Create multiple users with different levels of access
• Real-time status: Identifies exactly when zones have replicated around the world.

VXLANs

Take advantage of an enhanced virtual networking platform.

VXLAN provides the following advantages:

• Increases scalability in virtualized cloud environments, and overcoming the limitation of the amount of isolated networks allowed using VLANs.
• Enables you to use the Layer 3 features of the underlying network.

The virtual Layer 2 network is abstracted from the underlying physical network. As a result, the virtual network is not visible to the physical network and provides the following benefits:

• Removes the need to have additional physical infrastructure
• Reduces the scope of MAC address duplication to VMs that exists in the same VXLAN segment, since the MAC address can overlap when the addresses are not a part of the same VXLAN segment.
• The Secure Cloud WDC provides 3 VXLANs (Virtual Extensible LAN) per Customer WHOA Data Center. Additional VLANs and VXLANs can be purchased as needed. Contact your sales representative for additional VLAN and VXLAN pricing.

WhoaLogic Monitoring

WhoaLogic Standard Monitoring provides a platform to update customers with certain aspects of their virtual machine(s). In addition Standard Monitoring also includes external availability checks.

WhoaLogic Standard Monitoring Features include:

• The basic information about the virtual machine
• The current health, availability, latency, CPU, and memory for the virtual machine
• A count of, and links to, the elements associated with the virtual machine

External Monitoring

The Cloud DNS Networking system supports a very large subset of monitors from something as simple as a ping to something more complex as a DNS record lookup or even an HTTP Post that looks for specific content on the return. Configuring the correct monitor is essential to properly detecting outages for devices.

There are four default monitors that are pre-configured for quick use.  They can always be edited and have parameters adjusted.

There are numerous advanced monitors that you can use to create custom monitoring functionality to granularly detect UP/DOWN status for your devices.
